A custom dining table made to accompany the kitchen table. Reclaimed white barn oak finished with hardwax oil. The table top is affixed by slide mount along two long, unglued, blind, dovetail joints. The glued up surface slabs can grow and shrink along these axes with seasonal thermal changes. A stretcher runs above the floor, bracing the leg structures and providing rigidity while acting as a footrest. A bar of clearcoated carbon steel guards the wood from resting feet. A pair of extensions, shared with the kitchen table, add extra seating at either of the tables.
